Why We Built This Site
Utah publishes phone information one office at a time. The state employee directory covers state workers and asks for a full name before it will search. County directories carry the clerk, treasurer, assessor, sheriff, and health offices that handle so much daily business. The education network lists every school district with its own phone and fax. The University of Utah runs a campus search of its own. Public safety splits between 911, 988, 211, and a local non-emergency line, with no statewide 311 to fall back on. Add the utility emergency numbers and the NANPA and FCC area code references, and the picture gets crowded fast. We gather the lookup tools, contact methods, and reference data for all of it in one place.
What You Will Find Here
- Pages by phone topic: phone area codes, phone numbers, and phone codes
- Utah directory contacts: state agencies, county offices, city departments, school districts, the University of Utah, utilities, and public safety lines
- Directory walkthroughs: how to search the Utah State Directory of Employees, how to work down from a district to a school office, and how to check an unknown caller
- Phone numbering reference: the 801, 385, and 435 area codes, local exchange prefixes, N11 service codes such as 211 and 988, star codes, and toll-free prefixes
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Utah city office, county office, state agency, school district, utility, telecommunications carrier, or directory operator. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- We cannot place calls on your behalf or connect you to a department
- We cannot change anyone's directory listing, add a number, or remove a listing
- We cannot verify the identity of someone who called you
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific scam call applies to your situation
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, area code, or directory link on this site is current right now
Only the originating office can confirm a current phone number or change a listing. For emergencies, dial 911. For a mental-health or suicidal crisis, dial 988.
